Corporate Reporting Manager role working with the DCMS. The role is technical in nature and spreadsheet focussed.
About DCMS
The Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) is at the heart of the government's economic and social agendas. A quarter of UK businesses are in sectors covered by DCMS and are among the most exciting and fastest growing of the whole economy. They provide 5 million jobs and deliver £38bn worth of exports. Their mission is to drive growth, enrich lives and promote Britain to the world. Working in conjunction with 38 Arm's Length Bodies (ALBs), DCMS strives to create the conditions for everyone to enjoy the UK's national culture, play sport, make the most of new technologies and have access to effective communications. The sectors impacted by DCMS are critical to creating a global UK whose cultural, technological, creative, community and sporting assets mark us out as an essential partner for trade and investment.
Your new role
This role sits in the Management Accounting & Internal Reporting team. The post-holder will be responsible for the quality and timeliness of financial information provided to the DCMS Executive Board, senior officials and Ministers, enabling the Board to understand the Department's financial position and facilitate decision making. The post-holder will work closely with the Finance Business Partnering division to ensure that the net expenditure of DCMS and its family of ALBs remains within the annual budgets set by the Treasury and voted for its use by Parliament. This post offers a wide-ranging brief and would particularly suit an individual interested in group financial management. The role is technical in nature and data heavy, with the manipulation of data regularly required across spreadsheets. The role requires an individual to distil the key messages from this information to present to senior stakeholders. The role provides exposure to senior management as well as HM Treasury. This would be a great role for someone wishing to take on a challenging reporting role within a central finance team.
