Financial Planning and Analysis - Analyst

Gleeson Recruitment Group are currently partnering with a market leading business in Solihull in search of a Financial Planning and Analysis - Analyst. This is a new position that offers great progression opportunities as well as fantastic exposure to unique and exciting projects to the West Midlands region. They require an ambitious, commercially-minded accountant/analyst to join their business to support across a variety of functions. This is an exciting position that will allow the successful individual to progress later in their career and have tangible influence of the company's future strategy.

The Role

As Financial Planning and Analysis - Analyst you will report into the head of the department and is responsible for the following:

• You will manage the Financial forecasting tools, develop an understanding of financial modelling undertaken to be able to drive continuous improvements, remediate potential issues and highlight any risks or opportunities within the business.
• You will understand underlying assumptions within the model, support the update of these and allow continued full use of the model across commercial finance and wider business teams.
• Support forecasting cycles with analytics to identify trends, outliers etc to enable better explanation of numbers.
• Working closely with finance business partners with analysis to understand monthly performance through linking Operational KPIs and variance analysis against the forecast/budget
• Support the forecasting & budgeting process, challenging business inputs and understanding any significant changes between forecast cycles.
• Partner with the Financial Reporting team to ensure accurate month end reporting (BAU plus continuous development to improve speed, accuracy and insight).

The Requirements

The ideal candidate for this Financial Planning and Analysis - Analyst role would qualified with industry experience:

• Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA.
• Strong ability to business partner & influence stakeholders.
• Experience within new projects and costing.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret financials into meaningful business recommendations.
• Ideally studied accountancy, economics or business at university level.
