Property Accountant. Our Client is the asset and property management arm of an international real estate business who are rapidly growing in the UK. They manage a range of assets from residential to commercial which are spread nationwide. They are looking for an experienced Property Accountant to join their prestigious accounting team.

The Role: reporting to the Finance Manager you will be required to fulfil the following duties:

  • Managing a number of portfolios to financial statements.
  • Overseeing AP/AR functionalities such as:
  • Reviewing transactions posted by managing agent making sure they are accurate and in the correct cost-code.
  • Reviewing invoices posted by Accounts Payable making sure they are in the correct cost's codes and company.
  • Posting invoices if required
  • Carrying out journal entries, accruals and prepayments, depreciation.
  • Bank reconciliations making sure transactions are updated daily.
  • VAT returns for relevant companies.
  • CIS returns for relevant companies to be submitted by the Tax manager.
  • ATED returns.
  • Producing accurate and timely financial statements including balance sheet and P&L.
  • Performing balance sheet and P&L reconciliations.
  • Liaising with managing agent on a regular basis to ensure the integrity and accuracy of transactions posted.
  • Undertaking ad hoc tasks.

The Person: To apply for this role, you must be a part qualified or fully qualified accountant. It is highly desirable that you have had experience in property industry and have some knowledge of accountancy / property systems such as Yardi Voyager, though this is not a prerequisite. Attention to detail is very important. You are expected to be a great communicator and work well independently and in the team.
