Aylesbury High School (AHS) is a popular and oversubscribed 11-18 selective girls’ school, serving Aylesbury and North Bucks and operating as an ‘Academy’ since 2011.  The school has been judged ‘Outstanding’ in all categories by Ofsted and it is part way through an exciting period developing its 3-5 year ‘2020 Vision’. 

 

The school aim is: ‘To Inspire students to seek Challenge, fulfil their potential and Prepare for the world of today and tomorrow’ epitomised in the educational philosophy of being Academic, Holistic, Safe and inclusive.  Academic results are important as one facet of the school, however, their holistic approach is reflected in the breadth of the co-curricular offering and it views safeguarding and inclusion as being at the heart of the school.

 

The School is now looking for an outstanding candidate to join the senior leadership team and lead the finance and non-teaching services in the School.  This post will be an interesting, varied and exciting balance of contributing to the strategic leadership of the school, alongside operating the school’s finances and overseeing the running the facilities, health and safety, the IT and HR functions. The successful candidate will enjoy being part of a very collaborative working environment, with the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of school life. The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Non – educational risk management including ‘Safeguarding’.

 

The ideal candidate should demonstrate a successful career in the commercial world or education, whether this be in finance, general management or a similar discipline; strong financial skills are a critical part of this role however. Additionally, the candidate will be an outstanding communicator, both written and oral and demonstrate the ability to inspire all stakeholders; the assessment of this skill will be a pivotal part of the selection process. Organisational skills are additionally important but these will need to be complemented by creativity, flexibility, and a passion for making a difference. Lastly, the individual must demonstrate the desire to participate and assist in driving the ambitious growth over the forthcoming years.
