This role is key to the delivery of high quality group reporting at period end and statutory close and will be proactive in developing both areas as well as other key project work.

Description

  • Annual Statutory Accounts Preparation
    • Preparing Annual Reporting packages for all companies and group
    • Lead in the preparation of non-accounting disclosure within statutory accounts.
    • Update Statutory accounts for review
    • Maintain and update statutory accounts software (adding new companies, new disclosures)
  • Period and Quarterly Close and Rolling Audit Preparation
    • Support the period end closing processes, including board reporting
    • Assist with weekly sales reporting ○ Assist with a programme to optimise year end audit
    • Coordinate the collation of audit materials through the year in conjunction with the auditors
    • Statutory accounts and associated support prepared and agreed with auditors ahead of year end
  • Project Work
    • Assist with ongoing material changes as the group develops:
      • Assist in creating Newly Formed Special Purpose Vehicles (SPV's), holding Companies
      • Assist in creation of new group structures; new group accounts, disclosures, etc.
    • Assist in theworkstream to install statutory accounts software
      • Tender, install, testing and communication of accounting software
    • Accounting Policies & Procedures
      • Assist in the development in the month / year end timetable schedules
      • Install and maintain accounting policies manual
      • Support the installation of an accounting manual
    • Assist with company secretarial responsibilities
      • Track and ensure reporting and filing deadlines are made
      • Assist with group filings

Profile

Qualifications

  • ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)

Experience

  • Previous relevant experience of working on statutory accounts for medium or large companies, and in using financial IT systems

Skills & Knowledge

  • Highly confident with Statutory Accounts and procedures for medium and large companies
  • Comfortable with group consolidation accounting
  • Comfortable with year end accounting, policies, disclosures
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Comfortable with all levels (internally and externally)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Numerical analysis
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and with limited supervision.
  • Highly resilient, flexible and adaptable to a changing environment
  • Highly computer literate / and in using financial systems
