Internal Auditor

Accountancy Recruit is partnering a global business based in Liverpool to appoint an Internal Auditor. The role would suit a finance professional within external audit, internal audit or risk. The Internal Auditor will have the following responsibilities:

• Monitor compliance, devise and develop assessment methodology and work with group operations to ensure that all regulatory requirements are monitored.
• Assist in the development of a risk based internal audit plan covering global operations.
• Lead the scoping of process audits or regional operational audits following detailed risk assessments.
• Undertake audit fieldwork.
• Assess internal controls and highlight any areas for improvement to ensure all operational, financial and regulatory risks are mitigated.
• Work with various stakeholders, including senior management, to agree recommendations and implementation plans to address any internal control deficiencies.
• Ensure all audit actions are dealt with and present overdue actions at the regional risk and governance committees.
• Work with the business to deliver any ad hoc projects around process improvement.

To be successful in this role the Internal Auditor will have the following experience:

• A degree in business / management or related discipline.
• Ideally qualified but also considering qualified by experience.
• At least 3 years' experience in Internal Audit.
• Proactive problem-solving skills.
• Strong communicator with the ability to influence senior management.
• Strong IT skills, including knowledge of MS Office.
