Assistant Management Accountant
REPORTING TO: Finance Manager

The Assistant Management Accountant has responsibility for the timely reporting of management accounts and finance data within the Finance Team. Key responsibilities include monthly gross profit reporting and performance analysis, monitoring and reviewing inventory positions & various balance sheet reconciliations. The finance department is integral to Active International's operations and as such the successful candidate will gain broad business knowledge and experience of commercial projects and initiatives at a strategic level.

KEY TASKS
*Preparing and completing month-end reporting requirements within provided deadline.
*Reconciliation of department P&Ls, ensuring discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner.
*Preparation of monthly management pack for leadership meetings.
*Ownership of the intercompany billings, balances and reconciliations.
*Liaising with departments to monitor and review inventory positions.
*Calculation and posting of foreign exchange journals.
*Reconciling various balance sheet and P&L accounts, ensuring all entries are accurate.
*Calculating and billing monthly agency fees.
*Reporting on Marketing budget (quarterly).
*Completing regular (monthly/quarterly/annual) business surveys and travel accreditation submissions.
*Support the Finance Manager in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings and year end audit.
*Provide finance support to other countries and departments on an ad hoc basis.

*Providing day-to-day support to the Finance Manager and wider team.

*Own and lead on your Development Plan ensuring goals are fit for purpose, clearly documented and review regularly.

GENERAL
*Develop own knowledge to link our numbers with commercial understanding.
*Work alongside peers, other countries and departments to assist with strategies and coordinate efforts to increase ability to achieve our goals.
*Take an active role in department & cross department meetings, educating from a finance perspective, and encouraging adoption of company culture & values
*Currently working towards attaining relevant qualification e. ACCA or CIMA preferable.
*Liaise with Active's international offices to deal with queries as required.
*Perform other duties that may be assigned to you from time to time.


THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
*Proven experience in a previous management accounting role.
*A desire for a career in accounting, ideally part qualified(CIMA, ACCA etc).
*Finance related degree/AAT qualification, or equivalent, preferable.
*Background in the Media industry desirable.
*Experience with Intercompany postings.
*Able to present financial information in a clear and understandable manner to non-finance stakeholders.
*Excellent attention to detail and an excellent communicator.
*Ability to prioritise own workload and meet tight deadlines accordingly.
*Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and manage conflicting stakeholder priorities.
*Personal drive & initiative and works well in a fast-paced environment.

*Numerate and logical mind set with strong Excel skills.
