Portfolio Financial Controller

This unique opportunity will provide you with the chance to work with a small number of businesses providing accountancy services and advise that adds real value. My client is looking for a CIMA / ACCA or ACA qualified accountant with experience of producing statutory accounts, monthly or quarterly management accounts and client focused reports to work with SME’s at different stages and across a broad range of sectors. Essentially you will become an outsourced Financial Controller to clients and will be expected to liaise closely with a variety of stakeholders including: Business owner / Managing Directors, Accounts / Audit Partners and external advisors. The key duties associated with this role will be:

•    Preparation of management accounts for clients
•    Producing KPI reports and tailored analysis
•    Preparing budgets, forecasts and cashflows
•    Producing statutory accounts and tax returns
•    Working with staff at client premises
•    Improving client MI and accounting systems
•    Advising and presenting to clients and internal staff

You will be joining a small team in a boutique environment and will have the flexibility to work from home and visit clients premises across the Lancashire and Greater Manchester area. The position would suit someone from a practice background who wants more involvement and to add value to a small portfolio of clients or an industry accountant wanting more variety.

The successful candidate must have good time management skills to handle the breadth of client needs, the ability to meet deadlines and be a strong self-starter with the drive to deliver excellent service. Experience with SAGE and / or Xero would be highly desirable along with a high degree of competency with different technologies.
