Accountancy Recruit is partnering a client located in South Manchester to appoint a Financial Controller on an interim basis. The role will be for 6 months, part time for 2 or 3 days per week and could be fixed term or day rate basis. It would suit a portfolio FD happy to take on a Financial Controller role, a Financial Controller or Finance Manager.
The Financial Controller will have the following responsibilities:

  • Assist senior executives in creating strategic plans for the future.
  • Develop and improve financial reporting to ensure there is a clear understanding of business performance across all departments.
  • Data analysis to deliver insight linking financial data to business strategies.
  • Implement financial procedures, or initiate change, to ensure key operational, commercial and financial targets are delivered.
  • Provide strategic and financial guidance to ensure that the company's financial commitments are met.
  • Develop and support the financial KPI targets for the management team.
  • Support the company's accounting functions.
  • Drive financial planning and analysis and contribute to strategic planning.
  • Develop performance measurements and budget targets.
  • Monitor cash flow, accounts, and other financial transactions.
  • Drive improvements in systems and process and implement improved financial policies and procedures.


In order to be successful in this role the Financial Controller will have the following responsibilities:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA, AAT)
  • Strong experience in a similar role within a medium sized business, delivering process improvements.
  • Proven finance leadership skills.
  • Evidence of positively impacting company growth.
  • Experience in international businesses and dealing with foreign exchange.
  • Advanced qualification in accounting, business, finance, or a related field.
  • Excellent project manager and technically astute with strong IT skills.
  • Excellent communication skills at a managerial and operational level.
  • Ability to use financial analysis to facilitate change by working closely with, or providing a service to, a number of different departments.
  • Proven ability to propose, justify, initiate and implement change.


The salary/rate advertised for this role is a guide and the salary/rate offered will be commensurate with experience.
