The Role
We are delighted to be exclusively partnering with an entrepreneurial manufacturing SME, who have exciting growth plans in place over the next 12-18 months. To help facilitate these plans, our client is looking to appoint a Finance Director.
To be successful in applying for this role, the Finance Director will have a strong background within manufacturing and will be very experienced in costing. Additionally, the successful applicant will have to ‘get their hands dirty’ – be a very good accountant and be able to do the nuts and bolts accounting as well as leading from a strategic level.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Consolidate global P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow results in accordance with month end close timelines.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial results packs including analysis to support variance analysis.
- Responsible for tracking key business growth and productivity initiatives across multiple functions globally to achieve the business financial plan.
- Responsible for annual budget setting process, monthly financial forecasting and analysis processes including consolidation of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow. Responsible for developing and implementing new data analysis and forecasting techniques and reporting templates.
- Identify, through analysis, opportunities for productivity through material or operational initiatives.
- Coordinate all the Corporate and Statutory Audits, taking leadership in resolving issues in a timely manner.
Required Experience:
- Fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) Finance Director, or Financial Controller looking for their first FD role
- Experience developing and implementing forecasting processes.
- Solid knowledge of manufacturing and standard costing
- Able to lead by example from an accounting view – ensuring all financial accounting is completed in an accurate manner and on time
- Excellent ERP knowledge
- Excellent process improvement, verbal and written communication, presentation, teamwork, organisational skills, and strong sense of ownership.
- Able to work well with other external stakeholders, and communicate effectively to the board and wider Group
