An experienced Senior Finance Business Partner is required for a higher education business in central Sheffield - hybrid working pattern is being adopted

The role will provide specialist knowledge to academic business units, working in partnership to support decisions, budgetary and operational control and performance. You will work as part of a cross-service/cross-university management group, ensuring operational excellence and consistency of practice across the university.

  • Lead provision of strategic financial support for academic business units; work closely with senior leaders and managers to understand and inform priorities and plans
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of relevant business areas to assure quality and usefulness of financial performance information -
  • Provide specific, timely and relevant advice and challenge, costing and modelling, enabling assessment of the financial impacts of new initiatives as well as understanding current operating performance - develop targets and budgets underpinned by robust planning in collaboration with relevant services/ business areas
  • Responsible for financial forecasting and monitoring of operational and wider strategic activities, to facilitate annual and longer term planning, preparation of budget proposals and development of business cases for initiatives.
  • Support leaders to produce and present papers/report to relevant boards/committees to support operational and strategic decision making.
  • Promote and embed a culture which drives financial performance management
  • Pro-actively analyse and use appropriately commissioned financial management information available to identify trends or issues and use this information to influence senior leaders to take appropriate action.

We are looking for candidates from the following background;

  • Qualified CIMA/ACA/ACCA with extensive business partnering experience
  • Experience of developing high quality, customer focused services, contributing to their strategic direction
  • Experience of working in partnership and building strong links with managers at all levels within the organisation, providing expert advice to inform decision making
  • Experience of leading and managing a service provision including effective leadership of high impact change projects
  • Experience of designing and implementing flexible and innovative user focused solutions that deliver organisational strategy
