Elevation Accountancy & Finance are currently recruiting a Senior Financial Accountant for a highly respected business based in Bradford; initially on a 7 Month Fixed Term Contact to cover secondment within the business, role to commence in January 2022.
Working closely with an engaging Head of Finance, you will have the opportunity to manage and develop a team, along with supporting the business in the delivery of its objectives with robust data, insight, and strategic information.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is practice trained. You will receive a clear career pathway and you will have the opportunity to develop your skills across all areas of running a finance function. Hybrid working offered; 2 days a week working in the office.
Key Responsibilities will include:
* Maintenance of general ledgers
* Shared ownership with Financial Controller of balance sheet inputs
* Report financial accounting information as requested
* Manage the month-end process and timescales
* GL / balance sheet reconciliations - review, sign off and follow up on a monthly basis and investigate and resolve any discrepancies
* Review VAT returns/Intrastat/NSO returns
* Provision of monthly, quarterly and annual statutory information to the parent company
* Provide tax packs to the parent company
* Cash flow management and forecasting
* Management of fixed assets, verification and control
* Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts under IFRS and the external audit
* Comply with internal and external financial policies, standards and controls, whilst understanding the impact of own role on other areas
* Work with the business to drive, improve and enhance controls, documentation and the control framework
Skills & Experience Required:
* QBE or qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA) Large/mid-size plc exposure
* Advanced systems knowledge essential (Microsoft Nav, Jet reports, Cognos desirable)
* A structured and organised approach to work, self-motivated with the ability to manage own workload meeting deadlines and ensuring successful completion of tasks
* Attention to detail
* Exposure to multi-site business
* Proactively facilitates problem solving and seeks to make improvements that add value
* Confident and assertive with a 'can do' attitude
