Senior Finance Technician

As we continue to grow and expand into new markets, we have some exciting opportunities for Finance professionals looking to gain experience within a commercial retail business on a permanent or fixed term contract.
As part of the Financial Reporting & Compliance team, our Senior Finance Technicians support our Tax Lead with reconciliations across income streams and accounts or our Stock Accounting Manager with the day-to-day management of stock accounting throughout the business.
Please note these roles are based remotely within the UK, with occasional travel to our Cornwall head offices.
You’ll help us by:
- Ensuring that the stock value is properly recorded and accounted for in Microsoft AX
- Assisting with monthly stock close and reporting of stock position
- Management and reconciliation of Partner stock accounts
- Management of stock movement transactions at the DC
- Management of all retail stock movement transactions including dealing with queries, store system issues and resolving associated problems
- Store ‘licence plate receiving’ - collating, investigating, and resolving errors and issues
- Monitoring, co-ordinating and managing all stock transfer order processes in stores
- Management of stock taking activity
- Maintenance of store, FBP and Off-Site stock warehouses
- Management of stock write-offs such as faulty, theft and supporting Area Managers with these processes
- Providing management information as requested
- Reviewing and refining processes for efficiencies
- Deputising for the Stock Accounting Manager as and when required
- Ensuring all tasks are effectively carried out and completed on time.

- Performing income reconciliations using reconciliation software to match sales and returns to payments and refunds and period end reconciliations of GL payment control accounts
- Performing reconciliation of merchant services provider accounts, investigating payment and refund issues and reconciling accounts
- Performing Gift voucher / card reconciliations
- Performing reconciliation of Partner invoices, payments and accounts
- Maintaining and reconciling Customer accounts, including matching, settling and investigating unsettled balances on non-Wholesale customer accounts
- Providing management information as requested
- Reviewing and documenting all reconciliation processes, including reviewing and mapping reconciliation processes for Partners, payment providers and producing comprehensive documentation for all individual reconciliation processes as required
The skills you'll be sharing with the team:
With a background in a Finance role, you’ll be part AAT qualified or with considerable relevant experience. You’ll have knowledge of retail systems including POS, BOH portals and stock management software or Microsoft AX and reconciliation software is a requirement.
Rigorous, methodical and a logical problem solver, you’ll have excellent analysis skills and attention to detail. Proven working knowledge of financial systems and MS Office suite will be key.
You’ll also be an excellent team player with strong communication skills, written and verbal. Highly organised, you’ll be able to prioritise and work to deadlines with minimum supervision.
