RattrayParkin are currently supporting the recruitment requirements of a well established technology based manufacturer which is seeking to appoint a high calibre Finance Director to support its continued growth under private equity backing.

The Role

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Finance Director is a key member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) and responsible for all aspects of financial control. This is a hands-on role yet also requires a strategic and operational forward thinker who is ready to manage the Finance, HR and the Operations functions.

Key Accountabilities

  • Management and oversight of day-to-day operations for Finance, HR, Warehousing, Purchasing/Supply Chain & Quality
  • Creation of monthly Management accounts and all balance sheet reconciliations
  • Deliver exceptional monthly management information to the SMT and wider business, giving insightful analysis that helps drive profitable decision making
  • Lead the annual budget process
  • Annual Statutory account and audit work in collaboration with external accountants
  • VAT returns, cashflow, payroll, pension scheme management, company insurance renewals
  • Ownership of demand planning and purchase ordering for all product lines. Set the right safety stock levels and accurately forecast demand, along with understanding of lead times, to determine what to buy
  • Work closely with key suppliers to determine the necessary production and shipping schedules
  • Giving leadership and support to the Warehouse Manager, helping to ensure operations run smoothly and stock is accurately managed
  • Responsible for our ERP software, Microsoft Business Central, ensuring smooth service and that all records are accurately managed, including all financial ledgers, Customer and Vendor cards and Items records
  • Management of the Quality Manager, ensuring ISO standards are maintaining and delivering continuous improvement right across the business
  • Develop the team below you, helping to upskill and bridge the gap to management

Qualifications and Skills

  • Qualified CIMA/ACA/ACCA
  • Experienced of being a Financial Leader
  • Be a proactive influencer who can work with integrity and think practically to deliver results under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail with a wide range of financial and operational expertise
  • Excellent communicator across all departments at all levels - a leader, deeply connected to the business
  • Good Excel skills (particularly of the purposes of forecasting and manipulating data)
