A large London Market (re)Insurance Group are looking for a talented Tax Supervisor to join the team. The role is responsible for aspects of the group's tax accounting and compliance function encompassing all geographical locations of the group. You will be involved as a tax representative in several group initiatives and projects whilst collaborating with group tax/finance and US tax colleagues.

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Responsible for aspects of corporate tax compliance across UK & Europe, including:
  • Preparation of tax schedules, calculations and commentary for internal group reporting.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate completion of tax submissions and disclosures
  • Assisting in documenting, maintaining, and implementing transfer pricing policies and procedures.
  • Supporting the fulfilment of the Group's obligations under the Corporate Criminal Offence legislation.
  • Engaging with external tax advisors.
  • Involvement in tax accounting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Engage in aspects of tax related projects including project scope, approach, methodology and timing to ensure the corporate and tax compliance objectives of the organization are met.
  • Providing tax support in respect of business initiatives and projects, including company re-organisations, transactions advice and changes in the business environment.
  • Conduct analysis and research on certain tax technical issues. Present interpretations of findings and makes recommendations to tax and finance management as needed.
  • Responsible for staying up to date on trends and developments within functional area of expertise as well as the insurance industry as it relates to tax.
  • Manages the work activities and the performance of subordinate staff who report into this role.
  • Supports the maintenance of a robust tax control framework through review and testing of tax controls and procedures across all Taxes.
  • Identifies and implement tax process efficiencies.

The ideal candidate will have a professional Tax or Accounting qualification (CTA, ACA, ACCA) and will have several years experience gained in a Corporate Tax or Tax Accounting role. Knowledge of the insurance industry is beneficial but not essential for this role.
