Management and Cost Accountant Opportunity in Birmingham City Centre

Your new company
This international manufacturing business are seeking a Management Accountant for their division within the Midlands. The company are based in Birmingham city centre and offer hybrid working with standard hours of 8 30 to 4 30.

Your new role
We are looking for an experienced Management Accountant to ensure that accurate accounting controls are kept for the business unit, that the sales gross margin analysis and cost production analysis are conducted and communicated in accordance with month end, budget, ad-hoc and Group requirements and compliance with monthly group reporting requirements.

Key Duties:

• Main contact for business unit managers for financial information.
• Reconciliation of R&D projects.
• Apportionment of overhead by allocation models.
• Conduct inventory management with all relating financial ratios.
• Ensure the slow-moving inventories are fully provisioned.
• Ensure that the stock and scrap reconciliations are completed.
• Preparation of consolidated profit and loss.
• Reconciliation of inter-company trading accounts.
• Month end accruals and review of overheads.
• Adhere to month end, budget, ad-hoc and Group deadlines.
• Group monthly reporting.
• Analyze, communicate monthly reports and advise departments about production variances and gross margins.
• Preparation of department management accounts.
• Preparation of annual budget.
• Perform month-end closure of ERP system.
• Remote management of Accounts Payable Administrator
• Manage productivity savings and capital expenditure.
• VAT Returns and associated tasks.
• Maintenance of Fixed Asset Registers.
• Control Account Reconciliations.
• Government Statistics, Intrastat, EC Sales.
• Bonus Reconciliation.
• Analysis of Samples issued.
• Internet banking authorisation.

What you'll need to succeed
We are looking for an experienced Management Accountant who is either Qualified or Qualified by Experience and has knowledge of working in a divisional role. Knowledge of costings would be beneficial as would a background in manufacturing or similar.
