NED/Risk Committee Chair

Charity Bank (www.charitybank.org) is a dedicated lending and savings bank with a core strategy aimed at supporting positive social change.  Charity Bank is 100% owned by charities and social purpose investors and is dedicated to supporting, mainly through the provision of finance, UK charities and social enterprises.

Since 2002, it has used the money saved with it to provide over £350 million of loan finance to a wide range of organisations across the UK, and across the arts, community, education, environment, faith, health, housing, regeneration, social care and sports sectors.

They are currently looking to add a new NED who will also Chair the Risk Committee. The role will require approval by the FCA and PRA as a Senior Management Function (SMF10).

The role holder will be responsible for the leadership of Charity Bank’s Risk Committee and ensuring that it is effective in all respects.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience of operating at a senior strategic leadership level, reporting directly to a Board, with a strong focus on risk/credit risk within a regulated financial services background.
  • Previous experience as either a member of or Chair of a Risk Committee within a financial services organisation.
  • A demonstrable commitment to the charity/social sector.
  • Strong leadership skills, an ability to motivate others and contribute as a team-player.

This is a very exciting time in the bank’s development and this is a fantastic opportunity to get involved.

As an equal opportunities employer, Charity Bank welcomes applications from all suitably qualified persons.  All appointments will be made on merit.  This is a pro bono role.

A detailed role description will be available on request to any relevant and qualified candidates.  If you are interested in learning more and feel you have the skillset required, please email your CV to cindycasciani@equitychair.com by 17th January 2022.
