Sellick partnership has been engaged to recruit a Group Assistant Financial Controller for a profitable, reputable and instantly recognisable retail business in Manchester. This is a truly great role where you are able to immerse yourself within the company and gain great exposure at a key time in their strategic plan.

The role reports directly to the Group Financial Controller but also works closely with the business Directors. Your main remit will be the responsibility for managing the accounting and external financial reporting of the Group; the technical and management lead on the successful transition of the group accounting to US GAAP whilst maintaining IFRS; responsibility for group treasury and cash flow forecasting, including actively managing the liquidity of the Group and its subsidiaries and involvement in capital restructuring. You will also be a key player in the compliance of the group with Sarbanes Oxley ("SOx") legislation and be responsible for the management and development of a small team.

The successful applicant will ideally be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified coupled with a strong academic record and coming from a similar role. You will technically astute and ideally have exposure from a Group function.

You will gain substantial exposure to senior leaders across the finance teams and the wider business, as well as external bodies and partners. Therefore, you have a strong technical accounting expertise coupled with great interpersonal skills.

This role requires a self-motivated and focused person who will quickly establish themselves as a key contact challenging the status quo and striving for best practice. We are looking for someone with sparkle, drive & energy to come in and really drive some significant improvement.

You will possess good leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and support teams across finance coupled with building positive relationships with teams and leaders across the business to work collaboratively.

You will have experience from a similar dynamic and complex business and have the ability to juggle multiple conflicting priorities, working to tight deadlines. More importantly, you will have the ability to build successful relationships with partners across the business.

If you consider yourself to be a committed, career driven professional who can demonstrate the above experience and who would welcome the stimulus of this commercial finance post then we would be pleased to hear from you.
