Resourcery Group are working in partnership with an ambitious sector-leading, Private Equity-backed, contract-led business who are growing both organically and via acquisition, to recruit a Management Accountant. 

Based near Crewe/Stoke/Shrewsbury, the business wishes to strengthen their management accounts capability and are thus looking for an experienced Management Accountant to ensure that the team have the bench strength required to deliver the financials to the broader business in a proactive manner. 


The Management Accountant's role covers:

  • Production of monthly management accounts, variance analysis and associated commentary, together with additional reporting, to be delivered in accordance with deadlines.
  • Presentation of the site's monthly MI pack to senior operational team, monthly meetings scheduled 2 months in advance to help ensure results are reviewed and approved prior to final pack submission in-line with month end timetable.
  • Perform monthly reconciliation between 2 systems at both Revenue and Cost of Sales/Gross profit level.
  • Preparation of 13-week cash flow using standardised reporting templates.  Track forecast v actuals and understand variances in improve future forecasting and minimise deviations.
  • Business partnering MD's and cost centre managers.  Timetable regular review meetings with key members of the operational team to facilitate in depth understanding of all cost drivers for infeed into monthly reporting and planning cycles.
  • Attendance at site executive's meeting.
  • Preparation of quarterly balance sheet reconciliations to audit standard.
  • Preparation & presentation of quarterly forecasts, annual budgets & 5 year corporate plans – P&L, Balance Sheet, cash flow, Headcount, Capex, associated roadmaps and commentary.
  • Year end preparation and management of external audit requirements at a business unit level.
  • Assist in various process improvement projects – Stock, PO System, Intercompany invoicing etc.
  • Provide support and engage in ERP project (planned through 2022) as required.
  • Support banking and credit card administration.
  • Management of Purchase Ledger team (2 heads) and Office Admin (1 head).

The ideal candidate:

  • A fully qualified or Part Qualified Accountant - CIMA/ACCA
  • Have prior management accounting experience
  • Have strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Be comfortable in communicating the results and being proactive in developing reports to suit the needs of the business 
  • Be interested in a longer term position with the company ideally
