Our client protects millions of people in the UK who belong to defined benefit pension schemes. Their members rely on them to look after their pensions if their employers collapse and the pension schemes cannot afford to pay what they promised.

They are looking for a qualified Actuary to join one of their actuarial teams on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract.

This Actuary position will be responsible for the implementation phase of a project involving member compensation/assistance. The role includes planning the work schedule, adhering to that plan, designing the test scripts and checking results, checking that model calculations are correct as well as any necessary manual calculations.  The position is responsible for the quality and timeliness of the outputs. 

Their ideal applicant will be a fully qualified actuary with experience gained from within the Pensions or Insurance industry and will have knowledge of relevant actuarial specialities e.g. risk, valuations, pensions, investments, modelling. Applicants will need to demonstrate strong numerical and analytical skills along with the ability to promote and articulate ideas to different groups of stakeholders, internally and externally.
