Finance Manager job in Whitchurch for a global business paying c£45,000. Up to 50% home working.
Hays Senior Finance are working closely with this global business as they look to recruit a qualified Finance Manager. This successful business has grown significantly with some high profile acquisitions and now forms part of a global network of businesses. Due to ongoing growth and plans to integrate acquisitions into Whitchurch the business is looking to appoint an ACA/ACCA qualified accountant with relevant experience.
As Finance Manager you will develop and deliver a trustworthy and correct financial accounting process, compliant with SOX, demonstrating commitment against key responsibilities and accountabilities. The role is broad and can be adapted to the right candidate but will focus on the following areas:
Financial Accounting
Responsible for the integrity of the financial information and ensuring compliance with SOX, legislation and UK GAAP for transactions, including but not limited to;
- Preparation of monthly management accounts and assistance in review of sales report for distribution to the directors and senior managers including unbilled warehouse journals, accruals journals.
- Overseeing the year end statutory accounts preparation for external audit.
- Owning the Balance Sheet accounts including monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations, which are subsequently reported to Group Finance Team
- Developing/Maintaining financial controls to ensure 100% compliance and zero audit issues within SOX compliance framework.
- Supporting the annual budgeting process.
- Assisting, as required, the Financial Controller and FP&A Manager with reporting and projects
- Weekly cashflow forecasting to Finance Director and Group Finance team
- Preparation of regular SOX reports
Reporting Compliance :
Responsible for ensuring statutory information and payments are made in line with their respective requirements and we are compliant with legislative changes, including but not limited to;
- SOX - Overseeing all aspects of the UK and EU VAT reporting process.
- Responsibility for the completion of other HM Revenue and Customs returns and payments as required.
- Responsibility for the initial preparation of Corporation tax return prior to advisers review
- Responsibility for completion and submission of government issued forms such as Office for National Statistics, Payment Practices reporting returns as required.
- Finance lead on payroll and benefits compliance legislation.
Personnel management :
Responsible for personnel management within the finance team, including but not limited to;
- Motivating the team to encourage high efficiency and quality within their work.
- Giving clear guidance and support as required
- Organising workloads and holiday cover as required to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely, efficient manner.
- Seeking to improve processes to increase quality and efficiency.
- Recruiting motivated and enthusiastic members to the team as required and retaining them thereafter.
- Following HR guidance on best practices and complying with HR processes such as sickness procedure and annual leave.
This role is ideally suited, but not limited to, candidates trained in Practice who have a strong Financial Accounting background and pick things up quickly. This is a constantly evolving company and the finance team need to be agile to support this. The business will continue to grow over the coming years and this will lead to project work such as systems development, process improvement, business integrations.
