A established and growing business in Chester is currently recruiting for a qualified Financial Accountant who is ACA / ACCA Accountant, looking for thier first move from Practice. This business will consider newly qualified or experienced ACA / ACCA accountants.

Within this role you will be support the growth of the business by managing the acquisitions they are looking to make. You will maintain ownership of the financials for new acquisitions, to include operational accounting, and the full financial forecasts and results, whilst assisting with production of the year end statutory accounts (including consolidation) compliant with IFRS.

In addition to this you will also be looking at continuous development to drive improvements and efficiency's in the current systems and processes

As Financial Accountant you will be responsible for:

  • Working with the Financial Controller to understand in depth all processes and obtain full financial control of any integration.
  • Working with external advisors in order to complete any initial accounting and legal requirements.
  • Liaising with colleagues around the business and at the acquisition sites as part of the integration process.
  • Producing the completion accounts and the acquisition accounting entries for review
  • Working with the existing team to integrate the accounting systems of new business segments into the back office software and the accounting software.
  • Supporting the technical integration of acquisitions by working alongside IT
  • Maintain ownership of the financials for new acquisitions, to include operational accounting, and the full financial forecasts and results.
  • General acquisition integration support such as reviewing processes and aligning them to head office, clearly documenting processes and any changes to processes, general administration.
  • Supporting external audit requirements.
  • Working with external valuation team to prepare valuation reports for valuation of intangibles on acquisition.
  • Assisting with production of the year end statutory accounts (including consolidation) compliant with IFRS.
  • Assist in improving processes across the company to increase efficiency.
  • Working with the existing team to support projects and other aspects of financial reporting.

To apply for the role you must:

  • Be ACA or ACCA qualified
  • Have previously / recently worked in an accountancy practice
  • Have strong technical accounting skills
  • Be a good communicator and have strong analytical skills
  • Be looking to work for a hugely commercial organisation
