My client is an award winning, glamorous and international privately owned B2B. With impressive growth forecast, an urgent requirement for a Financial Controller has arisen. You will be responsible for managing, leading and developing a current team of 5.

This is a key appointment reporting into the Financial Director and based in the heart of Marlow. A prestige location for a prestigious client.


Role Purpose:

  • Leading and managing the Finance team based in the UK and being responsible for managing and centralising the financial deliverable in an international business
  • Ensuring financial controls effectively operate across the business
  • Ensuring financial data accurate and consistent across reporting systems
  • Implementing procedural controls for all transactions across the UK and the U.
  • Oversee month end procedures in an accurate timely manner, including performing detailed reviews of the Profit and Loss account and Balance Sheet together with adhoc monthly reports whilst providing insight into any reported variances
  • Ensure cash flow is fully controlled and monitored across different currencies and bank accounts
  • Ensuring compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures and compliance with all relevant accounting and reporting standards, delivery of ideas for accounting policies and clear and effective reporting
  • Working with and managing third party financial advisors including accountants and auditors
  • Year End-Management reporting to produce detailed cost and sales budgets for the following year.
  • Working closely with external auditors for all project and Balance Sheet queries under this remit

Additional

  • Support senior leadership team to deliver relevant, rigorous and concise business plans to meet and exceed agreed targets, including actively leading work to define and align long term, annual, quarterly, monthly and rolling financial targets
  • Create and manage ways of working and integration with other divisions which enables ease of information access and sharing but retain confidentiality controls as required.
  • Own the delivery of information for financially led meetings / updates to senior leadership team to agreed timetable and adhoc requirements, as required
  • Manage day to day Finance department including all adherence to regular financial and company regulations, government and revenue requirements
  • Oversee business month end procedures, accurately and in a timely manner, including performing detailed reviews of Profit and Loss account and Balance Sheet

You

  • An accountancy qualification (ACA/CIMA or international equivalent)
  • Proven track record on complex financial control - this includes strong experience in budget control mechanisms
  • Ensure cash flow is fully controlled and monitored across different currencies and bank accounts
  • Working with and Managing third party financial advisors including accountants and auditors
  • Demonstrated experience in international currency management including currency hedging mechanisms.
  • Previous experience in an agency style Eg: (Consultancy / Hospitality / Events / PR / Media) role and a successful track record within a commercially driven, growth environment - minimum 5 years
  • Previous experience running project based financials
  • Ability to influence and challenge for the good of the business in a tactful and respectful manner
  • Ability to engage with a wide variety of personalities
  • Ability to demonstrate exemplary standards of excellence and lead by example
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Inspirational leadership and team development qualities
  • Exceptional eye for detail and remains calm and focused under tight time constraints
  • Strong Excel skills - preferably pivot tables/macros
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Confident and able to quickly establish solid working relationship whilst working with other areas of the business
  • Engaging, professional, hard-working and very commercial and practical in their thinking
