Commercial Accountant - Crewe

Job Purpose - Commercial Accountant

Leadership of timely reporting and insightful analysis, creating processes and policies to improve operational effectiveness and financial performance.

Support management and depot network in interpreting business performance, offering commercial advice and ensuring understanding of the results.

Ensure a consistent approach is provided across all areas of the business to deliver and measure performance.

Accountabilities or "What you have to do"

Forecasting & Budgets

• Reporting and preparation of weekly, monthly, 12 month rolling forecasts
• Daily Sales and Depot forecasting, includes knowledge sharing and understanding across organisation
• Annual Budgeting preparation and review as well as regular forecast updates
• Prepare, co-ordinate and review weekly forecasting for submission to Senior Management team and Group

Commercial and Sales Reporting

• Support development of and produce meaningful business reporting for sales, purchasing and P&L
• Variance analysis and reporting - building commercial awareness across the business
• Value add commercial analysis including reporting packs for depots
• Responsible for regular commercial review of the company & depot results, with a strategic view to help drive improvements in both process and performance

Pricing

• Management of purchasing decisions and contracts
• Management and review of contracts ensuring optimal purchasing decisions and adherence to terms
• Commercial and financial support to the business advising on purchasing options daily

Month End

• Review P&L performance, identify any accounting entry corrections
• Variance analysis and commentary
• Balance Sheet reconciliations to the designated timetable

Continuous Improvement

• Continually striving for new methods of working to ensure operational excellence and customer support.
• Processes and documentation
