The Opportunity

Primary objectives and responsibilities for the Financial Accountant will be:

  • Assist the Senior Financial Accountant in ensuring all financial requirements detailed within the Contracts and Leases with our partners (local authorities/trust partners etc), are completed within the required deadlines, in the required formats.  These include but are not limited to:
    • Client information reports (monthly, quarterly, bi-annually, annually)
    • Independent reviews (externally verified financial reports)
    • Management Fees calculations
    • Lifecycle fund calculations
    • Income/Profit share reports and calculations
    • Income Benchmark reports and calculations
    • Utility Benchmark reports and calculations
    • Deductions calculations
  • Assist the Senior Financial Accountant with the year end statutory accounts and audit process for all entities:
    • Preparation of the year end reporting packs for Group Consolidation
    • Preparation of the individual entity statutory accounts
    • Liaising with the auditors
    • Preparation and provision of information requested by the auditors
    • Completion of the corporation tax packs to enable Group to complete the annual tax returns
  • Assist the Senior Financial Accountant with annual budget process, including:
    • The capital budget
    • The provision of P&L site budget files for operational management to populate, including pre population of central information
    • Consolidation of the P&L budgets for each entity
    • Preparation of the balance sheet & cash flow budgets for each entity
  • Assist with the preparation of any other financial reports required by board directors or external parties
  • Assist with maintaining the integrity of the financial results, ensuring that accounting standards are adhered to
  • To undertake any other duties as may be required by the company or line management
     

The Person

  • Qualified accountant
  • Must be IT proficient, strong spreadsheet skills are essential
  • Meticulous, organised, enthusiastic and hardworking
  • Good time management and the willingness to take a hands on approach
  • Proven ability to work within tight deadlines and timescales, good time management is essential
  • Have a good attention to detail, ability to coordinate substantial amounts of information
  • Able to work with a high degree of independence and as part of a multi-disciplined team
  • Strong communication skills, able to build and maintain effective relationships with non-finance stakeholders and clients
  • Able to explain accounting principles in basic terminology
  • Capable of dealing and interfacing at all levels within the business
  • Able to meet the demands of the role by working additional hours when required.
