Marks Sattin are currently working with one the regions leading business to assist with the recruitment of an Analytics Manager who will be heading up a newly formed team. This team has already had significant investment in both technology and head count with a view to getting double digit growth (headcount) by early next year.

You'll use your passion for data and analytics to challenge and improve their business processes to benefit the business as well as their customers. The core of this role will involve delivering accurate and timely reporting through a variety of technologies to a broad group of internal customers.

This will be an opportunity to influence the way the company engage with data via dashboards, reports and analytics. You will help to connect the business, answer the big questions and create value.

You will be accountable for:

  • Translating business requirements into powerful visualisations through data modelling and optimisation
  • Curating highly structured data for self-serve reporting and analytics
  • Driving a pro-active and inquisitive approach to identifying opportunities to improve working processes and systems, having the confidence to question the status quo
  • Working with stakeholders across the company to understand their needs and structure and visualize the data
  • Delivering a strategy that enables the business to recognise the value of data in the organisation
  • Providing strong communication skills to enable you to effectively communicate at the right level with technical, non-technical and senior business stakeholders alike
  • Educating Directors, Heads of Function and all relevant parties with regards to the Data Strategy, the utilisation of data and the adoption of a data-drive approach to decision making
  • Creating compelling insights to resolve problems and implement innovative processes
  • Delivering accurate reporting on a weekly/monthly basis
  • The ability to move quickly from big picture to details, and driving this behaviour across the rest of the analytics team

Skills:

  • 3+ years working with data and a strong idea on data transformation
  • Previous experience as an Analytics Manager is advantageous
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills is a must
  • Use of SQL & Python is advantageous
  • A degree (BSc/or equivalent) in a numerate subject such as Analysis, Data Science, or Maths with specific analytical qualifications is essential
  • Strong experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau/PowerBI
  • Managing a team in a reporting, data or finance environment
  • Analytical thinker who is able to interpret MI/BI and use it for sound decision making
  • Experience of building data/analytical models
  • Experience working with large amounts of data
