Hays Senior Finance are currently partnering with an Global logistics and technology business who are looking to recruit for a Group Financial Accountant to work within the Global Finance Team. This role will play a vital role in developing the group reporting processes. This is a full-time permanent job.
Within this growing team, you will report to the Group Financial Reporting Manager and work closely with the Systems Accountant. Working in this role, you will come into contact with colleagues on a regular basis and it is vital that you are able to manage these relationships professionally, while ensuring that the objectives and aims of the business are met.
Key duties of this job are listed below, however this is not an exhaustive list;
- Prepare group consolidated management accounts, initially on a quarterly basis
- Review these accounts and obtain explanations from group companies for any significant variances from budget
- Provide brief commentary on business performance
- Prepare statutory group consolidation at year end, together with financial statements and disclosure notes
- Assist with achievement of deadlines for year-end audit and reporting including liaison with auditors
- Provide technical accounting standards support to divisions and central team
- Ensure consistency of application of accounting policies across group companies
- Ensure reconciliation of inter-company balances and elimination of trading activities in group results
- Work with Systems Accountant towards achieving automatic elimination of intercompany transactions and balances on Netsuite
- Review the monthly accounts for Head Office services company. These are prepared by an offshore team. Ensure inter-company recharges are made promptly
- Maintain the accounts for a small number of non-trading group holding companies
About you
You will ideally be ACA qualified and this will possibly your first move from practice, although applications are welcome from all people who can demonstrate relevant experience:
- Knowledge of IFRS and FRS102 reporting
- An interest in technical accounting standards
- Someone who enjoys balance sheet reconciliations
- Comfortable with producing a set of statutory financial statements
- Confident accounting capability
- Strong Excel skills
My client is currently reporting in Excel, but are working towards being able to report from Netsuite, and you will be a key part of the team working on this project. Previous Netsuite experience is not required. Similarly, the role includes preparation of consolidated group accounts, but previous experience of this is also not required, as full training support will be given.
This is a hands-on role, with no manager responsibility. The main requirement is that you are looking for and will enjoy a technical accounting role where you will:
