Leading the financial accounts team of this industry leader here in the UK within their field of expertise. This leading service provider is seeking a Head of Financial Accounts (ACA/ACCA/CPA/CIMA or overseas equivalent) to lead a small team. Working in Central London 2 days a week and 3 days from home.
Leading your team
- Build, develop and maintain a focused, effective and empowered team
- Involve the team and engage them with our vision, goals & KPIs to create success
- Keep the team updated about our performance, progress and news, and inspire them to make a difference and continuously improve
- Help make the company a great place, driven by shared purpose, where everyone can succeed and build a brighter future together
- Lead the team in completing the company's cyclical and day-to-day management processes, including goal setting, performance and development
- Accurately complete all cyclical budgeting and forecasting exercises
Financial reporting
- Manage and lead the audits and be responsible for the preparation of statutory accounts for all group companies. Acting as the key point of contact for external and internal auditors and ensuring the quality and timely filing of accounts
- Finance lead for US group financial reporting, ensuring all deadlines and group policies are adhered to.
- Ownership of disclosure reporting
- Oversight of the treasury function ensuring strong control and cash flow management
- Ownership of intercompany invoicing and balances
Tax
- Ownership of group VAT and corporation tax reporting
- Lead in relationship with external tax advisors and internal team
- Act as lead in development in tax rules and regulations, ensuring compliance with reporting changing tax rules and requirements
Accounting policy and control
- Act as lead in ensuring accounting policies are continually reviewed, updated, and adhered to for both UK and US GAAP reporting
- Key contact for policy development and implementation
- Oversight for key financial controls and reviews and defined without sox’s and internal control documentation
- Embed a focus on continual development and transformation of our internal control framework
What you’ll bring
- Strong audit and tax experience
- A qualified accountant, 5+ years post qual
- Experience of team management
