Each year, millions of people take qualifications that help them to progress in their lives – to the next stage of their studies, into employment or in their enjoyment of a leisure pursuit. Now, more than ever, the work Ofqual does to secure quality and confidence in those qualifications is in the public eye. The pandemic has fundamentally affected many aspects of how students are trained, educated and assessed, and the effects will continue to ripple through for years to come.
Ofqual has a key role to play in looking ahead to the future. It’s important that public confidence in qualifications is secured for the future, that the implications of the pandemic are accounted for and that qualifications are awarded that have the confidence of all stakeholders.
As a member of Ofqual’s Finance and Commercial Team, you will be part of a talented team that is passionate about providing a high-quality end-to-end service across Ofqual.
We play a key part in providing expert advice, delivering good value and presenting data-driven insight to support strategic decision-making. We believe strongly in enabling your own professional development and in providing opportunities to develop the financial and commercial capability across Ofqual.
We have a great opportunity for you to provide high quality financial accounting service that supports the effective and efficient management of Ofqual financial resources such as VAT returns, maintaining the Asset register, balance sheet control, internal and external audit, payroll journals, month end close process, payment runs, account code mapping on Oracle, cash book reconciliations and various ad-hoc activities.
This role requires having good accounting knowledge, the ability to use your initiative as well as the ability to supervise and guide an apprentice who will be reporting into this role.
As an integral part of a small team, you will be able to own and develop the role to deliver effective and efficient management of Ofqual's resources.
We are committed to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion throughout the organisation. We are proud of the action we are taking to support EDI and Wellbeing and welcome applications from individuals from all backgrounds to support our ethos of creating a diverse culture that is reflective of both our employees and the learners we support.
Ofqual is a rewarding, dynamic place to work. We offer employees the opportunity to develop within their role and progress through the organisation via a number of Learning and Development opportunities and activities.
