fdu is recruiting a Senior Management Accountant for a global technology client.

Reporting to the Group FP&A Manager, you will have a great deal of exposure to high level senior stakeholders and provide key input to both influence the key decision making process across the business, and help evolve the Finance department as the business scales. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Management Accountant who has the capability and desire to grow into a Finance Manager.

Key responsibilities:

  • Own the Month End process; complete monthly close procedures to agreed timeline and consolidation of the group for reporting.
  • Analyse and review financial reports on a monthly and quarterly basis which will be distributed to key shareholders.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders in the business to help them understand their departmental financial figures and identify areas where costs can be controlled.
  • Tracking financial performance, including identifying and providing commentary on the drivers of variances between actual, budgeted and forecasted performance.
  • Design, development, and maintenance of robust FP&A reports to support regular communication to the Board and Executive team on financial performance and trends.
  • Build relationships within the business with a view to improve overall cost-base efficiencies and enable effective decision making.
  • Liaise with key Head of functions in the business to discuss, prepare and manage the budget for each business unit.
  • Deliver consistent, timely, accurate, high quality, and insightful financial and non-financial materials to facilitate and support commercial decision making.
  • Work closely with the systems team to maintain and enhance financial planning tools.
  • Leverage your experience to continuously improve systems, procedures and processes within the Finance department to ensure operational excellence.

Your profile:

  • Ideally, university educated with accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA) or equivalent.
  • Experience in providing actionable insights to support commercial decision making.
  • Able to combine a confidence to challenge and assert one’s own views amongst senior colleagues and peers with an ability to listen, influence, and adapt to the viewpoints and opinions of others.
  • Enjoys working in a hands-on environment and has a genuine interest in understanding the numbers.
  • Able to tackle complex problems in an environment of ambiguity where not all the desired information may be available.
  • Advanced user of excel, with excellent skills in financial modelling and trend analysis.
  • Ideally worked with NetSuite and financial planning tools (PBCS, OneStream etc.).
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
