Manchester based established Manufacturing business are looking for a strong and experienced Finance Manager to focus on the financial health of the business and it's subsidiaries.

As the Finance Manager, you will build partnerships and maintain strong relationships with senior managers and their teams. You will be expected to lead on financial and resource matters; influence decision-making; improve the understanding of business performance; developing and delivering company strategy; delivering analysis and insight on business opportunities; providing options and scenarios for business decisions.

You will be expected to work with your peers and other finance colleagues to ensure consistency of practice and continuous improvement activity across the business.

With a 45 million turnover, the business is in constant growth mode so this role is critical to that trajectory moving forward

Classed as Department Head, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following;

  • Responsible for the day-to-day financial operations within the business
  • Management and development of the finance department employees
  • Responsibility for month end and year end close in line with group reporting deadlines
  • Providing financial leadership to the Executive/senior Management team
  • Support the budget and forecasting process
  • Completion of management reporting and budget holder meetings
  • Identifying and communication of site financial risk & opportunities versus budget
  • Ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures for the company (JSOX Internal controls & Accounting Policies)
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Work with the company subsidury Finance Team for reporting, tax, auditing, banking and other financial needs as necessary
  • Provide insightful information and expectations to senior executives to aid in long-term and short-term decision making
  • Present financial reports to board members, stakeholders, executives, and clients in formal meetings

Candidate specification

  • Fully Qualified with a minimum of 2 year's work experience ideally from within a manufacturing organisation
  • Experience of managing a payroll function
  • Experience of managing a finance team
  • Understanding of data privacy standards
  • Solid communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Deep understanding of business principles and practices
