We are looking to recruit a Senior Finance Manager to join our European client at their UK Head Office in Liverpool. Reporting to the UK Finance Director, you will be responsible for managing a team consisting of Management Accountants, Finance Assistants and an Accounts Apprentice. The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA or CIMA) with demonstrable post-qualification experience in a financial reporting and control role, experience of statutory reporting, management accounting and influencing people in their decision-making process. The successful candidate will work with a variety of stakeholders and will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills at all levels, both inside and outside the Finance Function.
This position will suit an Accountant who thrives in a fast-paced, changing environment; candidates will need to be able to work closely with colleagues across the world to ensure consistency and commonality in reporting templates and to ensure the Division reporting requirements are met.
The Senior Finance Manager will be based in our head office in Liverpool, however it will also require travel between other UK sites and wider Group locations. Although the Head office is in Liverpool the business operated a flexible and hybrid working policy.

SENIOR FINANCE MANAGER
YOUR TASKS
- Production of the draft statutory accounts for the UK business and any subsidiary companies as required.
- Lead and be responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting to the UK Leadership team and into the Division for consolidation purposes.
- Develop and maintain forecasting systems and models, particularly around our long-term contracts. Challenge assumptions with appropriate individuals to ensure that information presented is robust and accurate and owned by those individuals.
- Work with colleagues to develop common reporting templates across the business.
- Facilitate cost control, corrective action and accurate apportionment of cost through the development of our systems and processes.
- Maintain technical proficiency by reviewing changes to relevant accounting standards, exposure drafts and other reporting requirements.
- Manage the relationships with a range of important external stakeholders including our auditors, bankers, insurers and pensions advisors.
- Lead, manage and continually develop the Finance team, supporting the Finance Director to ensure every opportunity is taken to develop and enhance the provision of an expert service to the organisation
- Prepare and present training on technical updates and key topics of accounting interest to the finance team and wider stakeholders.
- Develop effective relationships with the UK Leadership Team, UK Heads of Service, and finance colleagues throughout the Division/Group.
YOUR PROFILE
Essential:
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) or equivalent with demonstrable post qualification experience.
- Ability to prioritise a demanding workload and adhere to strict deadlines.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to challenge.
- Recent experience of complex financial modelling analysis.
- Excellent IT skills in Microsoft Office.
