I'm pleased to be exclusively supporting a P. backed leading provider of services to both private contributors and the public sector who have recently relocated their finance team to Nottinghamshire.

With a turnover of c.£20m p/a, and ambitious yet realistic growth forecast for 2022 of over £30m through ongoing continued growth, you'll be joining the organisation at an exciting time with excellent future prospects to be involved with.
Your new role
You'll be joining the organisation at a key period of continued growth. Joining as Financial Controller/Group Financial Controller, you'll be taking over from a current long-serving permanent colleague with support from an ongoing interim FC until a permanent replacement can be appointed.
As the new permanent Financial Controller, you'll support with the ongoing & rapid continued growth of the organisation, overseeing day to day finance matters alongside the Finance Director, taking responsibility for a small but growing team of 4/5 people across payroll, credit control, purchase ledger and Management Accounts. There is defined budget to continue the growth of the team into 2022 and beyond.
Principally, you will take responsibility for:
- Ensure timely entry of all primary accounting transaction such as bank and cash transactions, sales ledger, purchase ledger, payrolls, employee expenses, inter-company transactions and any other entries required to maintain an accurate record of the financial position of each company
- Assist the FD win the production of weekly and month end accounting information including management accounts and any key performance indicators.
- Assist the FD in any process required for the annual audit, statutory reporting, accounting / tax / legal compliance and any other ad-hoc reviews that any of the companies may be subject to.
- Assist the FD in any process required to produce forecasts and budget including any matters regarding the acquisition or disposal of business entities or trading operations.
- Undertake ad-hoc tasks required of the finance department to support the needs of the various sites and Senior Management.
- Mentor, support and development of the finance team.
What you'll need to succeed
Overall, you will be a well-rounded finance professional with a CCAB recognised accounting qualification with 5 years post qualification experience, alongside experience in managing small finance function, weekly, monthly and annual reporting including management accounts, statutory accounts, budgeting, with a good understanding of accounting systems.
You will also have experience in reporting unto the Operational Management team and to the Board of Directors.
The ideal candidate will have worked within a P organisation having comfortably worked within growth organisations of £20m t/o upwards, with a multi-company structure. Exposure to a similar sector would be ideally suited however not essential.
There will be a need for some travel to local sites across the centre of England on occasion, and due to the nature of payroll and IT functions being outsourced, familiarity and comfortability of having dealt with similar working structures would also be of benefit.
