Management of UK corporate and employment taxes for group, providing tax support for a private equity backed business. The business is going through an exciting period of development, and therefore there will be a strong focus on tax structuring for strategic and corporate finance projects in Real Estate.

Our client is a well known name in the Bournemouth area and has grown from strength to strength despite some difficult years within the UK economy.

Description

  • Go to person for the business for all corporate tax matters
  • Preparation and submission of corporation tax returns and managing the overall corporation tax position of the Group including maximising loss relief where appropriate
  • Calculate the Group's quarterly payments on account
  • Calculation of the tax figures to be included within the annual and interim reports
  • Accurate forecasting of cash tax payments for budgeting purposes and longer-term planning
  • Maintain and implement the Group's Transfer Pricing Policy and documentation.
  • Prepare and optimise tax claims and elections such as capital allowances, land remediation and research and development reliefs
  • Correspond with and maintain relationships with the Group's external tax advisors to ensure corporation tax planning opportunities are identified and actioned as appropriate.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with prevailing PAYE legislation. Work with tax advisors and business to ensure the Group properly manages its employment status risk, particularly in relation to IR35
  • Management of the PAYE year end compliance procedure including the PAYE Settlement Agreement, Dispensation Agreements, Taxed Award Schemes, P11Ds and share reporting
  • Keep the expenses policy up-to-date in light of changing business requirements, legislation and HMRC practices
  • Advise on remuneration schemes operated by the Group, to ensure tax efficiency and compliance
  • Maintain employee taxation content on the Group's intranet site
  • Identify tax risks and improvements to support the Group's Senior Accounting Officer position, through regular controls testing and implementing process improvements across the business as risks are identified
  • Provide Stamp Duty advice to the business as required
  • Take ownership of tax risks and controls in core ERP systems
  • Monitor changes in tax law and regulation and assess their likely impact on the business
  • Delivery of tax training to the business
  • Obtaining relevant withholding tax clearances in relation to the Group's loans
  • Managing the relationship with HMRC and the Group's external tax advisors to ensure planning opportunities are identified and actioned as appropriate
