Financial Controller

My client is looking for a Financial Controller to join their finance team. You'll be part of a small but growing team of 4, meaning you'll be supported, along with having space and independence to grow your role within the business.

My client is a professional services firm with a twist; not only do they invest from day zero through to Series A, focusing primarily on technology and crypto currency start ups, they also offer operational support to businesses wanting to scale up. They employee between 50-100 people and have offices based in the City. They operate a fully hybrid working from home model and have industry leading employee benefits.

Description

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will initially manage a team of 2 direct reports adding to the team as the Group grows. The main responsibilities will include but not be limited to;

• FP&A and Business Partnering
• Review Monthly Subsidiary Financial Accounts
• Portfolio valuations
• Statutory Reporting Annual Audit
• Group Cash flow
• Internally Developed Software
• Tax
• FCA regulations
• R&D Tax Credits

Profile

Experience Required:

• 5 years + PQE as a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or Group Reporting Manager in a financial services business or Private Equity / Venture Capital Fund
• Listed Plc experience would be helpful
• Demonstrable technical knowledge of local IFRS and FRS 101 and experience in preparing financial statements

Skills

• Qualified Accountant
• Big four trained preferred
• Excellent understanding of accounting standards (FRS 101 and IFRS)
• Advanced skills in Excel
• A desire to work in an agile and fluid environment.
