Financial Controller

Gleeson Recruitment Group are working with an SME Manufacturing business, with sites based in Wolverhampton and Cradley Heath. They require a Financial Controller, to take ownership of all aspects of management and financial accounts for the business, with travel between both sites.

You will be managing a team of 2 people, with 1 person based at each site. The business are looking for someone to be very hands-on at the two sites. Reporting directly into the Head of Finance, you will be involved in all aspects of the company accounts, looking after management accounts, costing and reporting and liaising with the SLT team on a regular basis.

You will be driving the team to look into P&L, cash flow and management accounts, through using in house systems and excel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting the General Managers with all company financial matters
• Day to day management, development and appraisal of the small accounts team and providing cover where required
• Signing off and reviewing payment runs
• Providing accurate and timely monthly management accounts
• Preparing annual budgets including profit and loss, Balance Sheet and cashflows
• Preparation of Year End process including audit requirements
• Supporting the General Manager in presenting results to Group management team and the Board of Directors
• Management of cash and working capital including monthly cashflow reporting, forecasting and daily tracking
• Maintain capital expenditure system and the fixed asset register
• Maintain tooling control system
• Expenditure and variance analysis
• Analyse stock movement and discrepancies
• Produce daily / weekly key performance reports
• Reconciliation of bank accounts
• Reconciliation of balance sheet control accounts and systems
• Manage monthly intercompany recharging and agreeing balances.
• Monthly CID reconciliations by day 8
• Prepare quarterly VAT returns

Financial Accountant Package:

• £40,000 - £45,000
• Pension
• 25 days holiday + bank holidays
