Junior R&D Tax Consultant

JOB OVERVIEW

To contribute to the growth of the business and strengthening of the company's reputation by preparing the technical aspect of claims with an efficient, high-quality, client-focused approach that results in a positive customer experience. To ensure that correct methods of assessing the quality of the claim are applied so claims are robust and can be upheld in the event of a HMRC enquiry whilst also ensuring that the tax relief obtained for the client is maximised

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

• Obtaining detailed technical information from the client to ensure all relevant R&D activities are captured.
• Extracting relevant information from project plans, websites, or technical data the client provides.
• Identifying which activities do and don't qualify for the R&D Tax Incentive Scheme.
• Ensuring technical standards and procedures are adhered to.
• Ensuring technical information on all claims is accurate and clearly explained, and the claim can be justified should HMRC investigate it.
• Assessing risks relating to the technical aspect of the claim, documenting those risks and highlighting them.
• Explaining the technical process to clients, ensuring they understand it.
• Undertaking research to assess baseline technology and gathering information to support the claim.
• Responding to HMRC enquiries where appropriate.
• Undertaking other duties as required to support the R&D technical team.
