About the Company

My client, based in Kingston Upon Hull are an innovative, entrepreneurial SME organisation serving a wide variety of UK and European clients. As a market leader in its field, the business is experiencing significant growth and the need has arisen to recruit a highly competent Company Accountant to support the Managing Director and wider senior management team in all aspects of Financial Reporting and commercial decision making.

About the Role

Working closely with the senior management team you will take responsibility for all aspects of financial reporting and cash management in addition to providing critical financial insight to the future growth and success of the business.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Oversee the upkeep of the company’s core financial records.
  • Manage the UK finance team comprising AP, AR and assistant accountant. 
  • Perform new customer and supplier checks and account setup.
  • Complete month end procedures including bank and invoice finance reconciliations, aged debtors and creditors analysis, accrued sales and costs, other balance sheet account reconciliations and P&L analyses.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register and the depreciation calculations.
  • Produce monthly management accounts with variation analysis.
  • Produce monthly departmental financial analysis.
  • Manage the company’s cash flow, including making payments to suppliers and produce weekly cash flow forecasts.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.
  • Produce the annual financial statements and liaise with auditors.
  • Produce the annual budget in cooperation with the sales and operations departments.
  • Other ad hoc financial reporting as required by the management team.

Candidate Profile

Qualified ACA/CIMA or ACCA you will possess strong Management Accounting experience with a proven ability to convey financial information to non-finance managers in a confident and persuasive manner. You will have proven analytical and reporting skills through advanced knowledge of Microsoft excel in addition to possessing excellent organisational and time management skills as well as attention to detail.
