Location: Flexible - will need to attend Ross on Wye office
Closing date: 29th May 2022
Interviews: week commencing 6th June 2022
Our client works to protect our ocean, and all that depend on it, the wildlife, the people, and now, our planet.
For their organisation to be effective and meet their ambitions to make healthy seas that everyone can enjoy, they need to have strong financial accountability, and robust processes that work. Their Finance Team is part of the foundations of their organisation and has a vital purpose that touches every part of their work.
The Assistant Finance Manager will work as part of a team, responsible for month-end journals, bank reconciliations and assisting with cash forecasting. With an eye for detail, you’ll develop our client’s processes and procedures that are clear and easy for the organisation to use and give their new colleagues the know-how for them to make responsible decisions for their finances in all that they do.
Our client’s work is varied and interesting and their team is determined to create change for the future of our oceans. You’ll support their applications for funding, providing information for grant claims and project delivery milestones.
Technical Knowledge: Working towards Qualified accountant or have an Accounting Technician qualification or equivalent practical experience. Confident and with expertise with accounting software packages, and using MS Teams, Office (excelling at Excel, as you might imagine!) and purchase order systems. Knowledge of accounting for VAT (and understanding how that has an impact in a charity would be an advantage).
Best practice: Able to work through problems, and sticking points, and can analyse data so it can be explained well to non-financial colleagues. Looks to develop our client’s processes for excellent financial robustness, as well as efficiency and ease of access by their team.
Working with our client: Takes a people-centric approach, is a problem-solver who supports others, and will enjoy working with a team who are passionate advocates for our ocean and environment. Our client is looking for people who demonstrate their values, but who also contribute their own perspectives and experiences to add to their knowledge and culture.
