Partner Financial are engaged with an established transport company in the UK with a turnover of £650Million. The company is part of a global leading logistics group, who play a key role in the international supply chain. Their commitment to work towards sustainable transport has been key to improving their product offering and costumer experience.

The position will report to the Financial Accounting Manager, joining a high performing and coordinated team, you will be responsible for the internal and external reporting requirements of the divisions and their entities, while providing technical advice to the line management team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Preparing and submitting the Corporation tax returns and audited statutory accounts for group and all subsidiary entities
  • Providing expert technical advice and interpretation of proposed or effected changes in accounting rules under International Financial Reporting Standards
  • Explaining the financial impact and benefits of alternative accounting treatments provided
  • Owning the internal group tax submissions process
  • Liaising with external auditors for year-end audit
  • Submitting monthly group consolidated financials to shareholder timely and accurately
  • Preparing monthly packs to submit to shareholders, including Profit and loss, Balance sheet, Cashflow statement and Capital Expenditure Summary
  • Working together with the Financial Accounting Manager to create annual budget and quarterly reforecasts
  • Maintaining a control environment and enhancing internal processes when possible
  • Managing the day-to-day user administration for reporting systems and liaise with IT as required, including resolving queries from system users

The ideal candidate:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent)
  • Excellent IT literacy, especially MS Excel
  • Highly organised and proactive individual, with excellent attention to detail
  • Extensive understanding of accounting principles and strong working knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS reporting standards
  • Proven experience in preparation of statutory accounts
