I am delighted to be working with a leading manufacturing business based in Worcestershire, as they look to recruit a Financial Controller to be responsible for the financial activities of the European Region.

My Clients are a leading international manufacturing business based in Worcestershire.
Description
Working closely with other divisional functions and global corporate financial management, including Accounting, Tax, Treasury, the Financial Controller, Europe will drive continuous improvement across all areas.
Accountabilities include;
- Month-End Processes - being responsible for the integrity of the month end balance sheet for all European entities (including India)
- Financial Reporting - Undertake all monthly reporting responsibilities to FD and SLT. This includes inter alia Monthly Management accounts preparation, SBU profitability reporting, Day 1 Flash Report, Corporate Reporting requirements, balance sheet dashboard, and Risk and Opportunities
- Annual Processes - To include YEAR END PROCESSES: Manage the year end audit, statutory accounts and corporation tax return preparation for all entities and branches within the European Region. Responsibility for all local statutory reporting, to include monthly and annual ONS submissions in the UK, German reporting etc ANNUAL BUDGET PROCESS - Management, co-ordination, consolidation and submission of the annual budget.
- Team Management - Effectively manage, grow and develop the Finance team, providing coaching, training and mentoring to encourage outstanding teamwork with a strong culture of pride, integrity and belief in service excellence. Co-ordinate the day to day activities of the Financial Accounting and Credit Control teams, with management of the Accounts Payable team. Perform annual appraisals in line with the PDR process, with regular review of performance during the year. Ensure the team follows the Company policy regarding sick time, personal leave, overtime etc. Be responsible for any required hiring / promotion / performance improvement process for the team.
Profile
The successful candidate for the Financial Controller, Europe position will be ACA Qualified and have an extensive technical background, ideally within Manufacturing.
You will be able to provide leadership and direction to the finance team on site, and in satellite locations.
- Experience establishing accounting processes and an understanding of internal controls
- Strong appreciation for procedure and process and operational excellence
- Good attention to detail, focusing on the quality of the work performed, with strong project management skills, working to deadlines and under time pressure
- Strong computer skills including but not limited to, ERP systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access. SAP experience useful but not essential
Exceptional depth in accounting knowledge, US and UK GAAP.
Experience with International accounting practices and operations including foreign currency translation required
