Elevation Accountancy & Finance are currently supporting a well-established distribution business based in the Pontefract area as they look to expand their team further and appoint a Finance Analyst to join their Logistics Finance Team on a full time, permanent basis.

Working within an established and growing team of 5, you will report directly into the Finance Manager and have a full encompassing role. You will be heavily involved in dealing directly with the systems and logistic teams across the business so it is essential that you have strong communication skills so that you can effectively build strong relationships with stakeholders.

The role will take great responsibility for analytical responsibilities as you will be really going into depth and detail to provide commentary and variance analysis on multi-million pounds worth of stock. You will also be responsible for analysing customer data and stock reports and presenting this back to the wider team!

Duties of the Finance Analyst will include:

* Preparation of weekly and monthly shrinkage reports showing stock losses and gains
* Monitoring, highlighting and investigating any areas of concern, liaising with warehousing teams, IT and/or other Finance teams as appropriate
* Tracking to the budget/forecast and investigating any variances
* Taking an active role in the management of warehouse stock control
* Prepare and analysing Balance Sheet reconciliations giving justifications for all exceptional items or unusual balances to ensure the minimum number of reconciliation points
* Responding to ad hoc queries from people across the business as and when required
* Responding to requests for ad hoc reports within the required deadlines

To be considered for this role you MUST have the following:

* Part Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA)
* Good IT knowledge - Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, CODA, SQL
* Ability to analyse and interpret large volumes of information
* Excellent attention to detail with an analytical approach to solving problems
* Strong communication and influencing skills
* Enthusiastic and driven with a real passion for developing yourself
* Able to adapt and keep pace with a fast moving environment
* Commercial awareness and understanding of core business processes
