Hays are recruiting a Management Accountant for a Top 30 UK accountancy firm in Norwich.

You will join a business team, which provides a mix of accounting services ranging from bookkeeping and year end accounts preparations, including tax returns, to a rapidly growing and innovative cloud accounting service line. They have a relationship centric approach and are trusted advisors to clients of all shapes and sizes, but they are typically owner managed businesses, giving you the opportunity to deal directly with the decision makers and to truly help shape the direction of their firm. Based out of our Norwich office, our Outsourcing department is rapidly evolving and has quadrupled in size over the past two years to meet the needs of its ever growing portfolio of clients. They typically work with moderately sized firms from a plethora of sectors that require our external expertise to do their bookkeeping and VAT returns, through to providing them with insightful management accounts.

As a Management Accountant you will have ownership of the following tasks:

• Acting as main client point of contact for day to day issues
• Supervising trainee/assistant's work to ensure it is completed accurately and thoroughly
• Carrying out analytical reviews of accounts, with the ability to prepare a good Trial Balance position on all assignments
• Producing detailed and insightful management accounts
• Preparing and reviewing VAT returns
• Suggesting improvements to supervisor/manager that can be made to clients' accounting systems and procedures

The person

• AAT qualified/ACA, ACCA or CIMA part qualified, or qualified by experience
• Experience of working in an accountancy practice preparing sets of accounts
• Experience of preparing management accounts, bookkeeping and VAT returns
• Experience of using cloud-based accounting systems
• Client facing experience
