Unique opportunity to support the implementation & delivery of a Financial Crime risk management strategy

Your new company
I'm delighted to be partnered once again with a uniquely structured, Government owned, independently managed financial services organisation who operate to provide, drive and promote sustainable growth across the UK, providing finance access to the SME business market.

Your new role
Working as a key figurehead of the Fraud and Financial Crime team, reporting into the Managing Director of the team, you will hold responsibility for supporting the implementation and delivery of a financial crime risk management strategy for the organisation.

Working closely with Government and key partners, you will ensure the understanding and control of Financial Crime within the framework and Board agreed risk parameters. There is an active plan to evolve the standards, framework and policies across the organisation, and you will play a key part in Financial Crime Risk Assessments and action plans where appropriate.

Your role will provide strategic support and guidance to the Bank, operationally supporting product teams in line with the risk framework acting as a key point of escalation. Alongside this, you will lead collaboration between internal and Government stakeholders on the implementation of risk management, insight and wider initiatives as part of performance and delivery related activities.

The wider F&FC team will provide support to all teams across the Bank in relation to the ongoing development of fraud and financial policy risk standards and policies, analysis & insight including sampling and case studies and risk segmentation to assist in the ongoing management of risk profiling across the organisation.

In addition to the above, you will monitor and report on financial crime risks, key insights and team performance and will escalate issues to the Managing Director Fraud & Financial Crime, General Counsel and Company Secretary, and the Chief Risk Officer through the organisational governance structure or as otherwise necessary.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have an excellent knowledge of Fraud and Financial Crime risk operations and compliance processes and ensuring the management of these, ideally within a financial services environment. You will also possess detailed operational knowledge and understanding of the UK regulatory and legal requirements in relation to Fraud and Financial Crime, with the ability to understand and consider Financial Crime risks and compliance.

You will have proven experience of effectively leading teams to deliver within a collaborative environment, using sound judgement in decision making. Management of internal and external stakeholders at a variety of levels to ensure transparency and confidence are essential, and experience in dealing with government stakeholders would also be a distinct advantage.

What you'll get in return
This role can be conducted largely remotely, with office based working appropriate for key meetings and collaboration (to line manager discretion). Main office sites are in Sheffield and London, with travel required between both sites - a preferred base location of Sheffield is applicable to this role but open to discussion.

  • Salary of up to £100,000 p/a depending on experience
  • 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays, opportunity to buy and sell holiday
  • 15% employer pension contribution
  • Performance related bonus of up to 20%
  • Flexible working, cycle to work scheme, healthcare cash plan and life assurance
  • Paid voluntary day, maternity, adoption, and shared parental leave
  • Benefits designed to suit your lifestyle - from discounts on retail and socialising, to health and wellbeing, travel, and technology
