M&A / Transaction Analyst

We are working with a luxury consumer good brand (c£30m t/o) who are preparing for a financial transaction.

We need to recruit an Interim Financial Analyst / Financial Manager to support the Finance Director with this activity. The successful individual will have to quickly develop an understanding of the transaction, interpret and analyse financial information and projections, review historical trading and the adequacy of working capital facilities.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting transaction due diligence.
  • Develop / maintain financial models and analytics that support the assessment and valuation of the transaction in collaboration with the Finance Director. These models will include forecasts, DCF analyses, comparable companies and comparable transaction analysis, and accretion / (dilution) analysis.
  • Prepare the Data Room - maintain a database of M&A-specific market intelligence and reporting materials. Data gathering will require reviews and comprehension of company or industry research reports, regulatory filings, and financial statements.
  • Manage workflow and communications with third-party advisors who may be engaged to assist with various aspects of the M&A process.
  • Communicate the business case to all internal stakeholders and present complex opportunities to senior management in a clear and concise manner with strategic rationale.

I anticipate that you will probably be Qualified (ACA or equivalent) with ideally no more than two years PQE and possess strong report writing and reviewing skills. Some transaction experience would be an advantage but not a pre-requisite, what is essential however is a strong commercial acumen genuine market awareness.

You must be immediately available for this assignment and be willing to commit to an initial period of two months.
