Senior Accountant

We’re currently recruiting for this growing SME Bank and this particular role will suit either an experienced Senior Accountant or Finance Manager with a strong background in the Banking sector, either through Audit or Industry.

The role:

Is a hybrid position working between Financial Reporting and process improvements projects. As well as being responsible for parts of the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, you’ll be responsible for various process improvement projects, systems and controls enhancements.

Really the ideal role if you want some variety and want to be involved in some high-level change and transformation work.

Key Duties:

• Responsible for Statutory Accounts and external reporting
• Preparation of annual Audit and be the first line of communication with the Auditors
• Responsible for the monthly consolidation process
• Drive consistency in accounting policy implementation
• Implement major IFRS projects and other changes
• Present to senior management a basic understanding of certain accounting policies or issues
• Provide accounting advice to senior managers across the Group
• Develop the Banks reporting framework, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards
• Take control of several projects to enhance a particular are of the balance sheet that needs improvement
• Pro-actively seek out inefficiencies and take action to map and resolve better practice

About You:

• ACA, CIMA or ACCA Qualified with at least 4 years PQE experience
• A background in Banking or Audit
• Experience in a Statutory Reporting and Controls based role within banking
• An enthusiasm of making things better
• An ability to communicate at Board level
