I am currently recruiting for a Payroll Officer to join an impressive, successful business in Chester. Having undergone a period of transformation you will be joining a dynamic finance team responsible for collating and processing information from attendance systems in order to pay employees in line with company and statutory regulations.

Responsibilities and duties:

* Weekly verification of hours worked by shop floor employees (circa 100 employees over two sites)
* Weekly collation of data into payroll systems
* Holidays, sickness and absence processing and controlling
* Ensuring information is converted into pay details - creation of pay slips and initiation of payment to banks
* Completion of internal daily / weekly / monthly attendance and payroll reports with adherence to GDPR rules
* Reconciliation and payment of statutory deductions to relevant bodies (PAYE/NI etc.)
* Entry of payroll impact into company financial records
* Processing/paying expenses for travel and subsistence
* Supportive assistance across the wider finance team as required (e. holiday cover)

Qualifications & Experience:

* Demonstrable experience in a previous, similar role
* Confident communicator able to build rapport with stakeholders at all levels
* Impeccable attention to detail
* Positive, can do attitude to contribute to transformation
* Sage 50 (Payroll) and Focus (Time & Attendance) advantageous
* Strong Excel skills
