Group Financial Controller for a e-commerce organisation based near Birmingham City Centre.

Hays are delighted to be supporting a leading e-commerce business to support their new Group Financial Controller.

Your new role
Based near Birmingham city centre you will assume full responsibility for a busy Finance function. Reporting to the Finance Director you will manage the A-Z of the finance. This is a newly created and key role for the company to support their continued growth.

Key duties include:

* Ensure the compliance of internal control and financial policies
* Ensure the data entries in accounting system with high level of accuracy
* Perform internal and external reporting as required
* Cooperate with internal & external audit closely
* Work with other departments and employees to ensure the finance guidelines are followed
* Oversee the preparation and planning of budgets
* Maintain records and receipts for all daily transactions and changes
* Monitor all bank deposits and payments
* Perform periodic financial analysis to detect and resolve problems.
* Prepare balance sheets
* Perform support for the Finance Director
* Create and implement financial policies to guarantee operational efficiency



What you'll need to succeed
You will be a fully Qualified Accountant with a hands on and pragmatic approach to work. You will be a proven technical FC but with a commercial outlook. Previous experience at FC level or FM level is required. A knowledge of a cloud based accounting software could be beneficial particulary Advanced Open Accounts. You will also have advanced excel and strong knowledge of financial analysis, modelling and planning. Some travel to Europe each month is needed (circa 2 days) plus an initial one months training in Europe (monday to friday fully expensed)
