Leadership and management of the FP&A team, Support the CFO in the provision and delivery of high quality financial and management information to the Group's shareholders and other key stakeholders.

Description

 Leadership and management of a small team (six FTE) of professional accountants, including appraisals, team meetings, one to one coaching - being able to demonstrate that you can motivate, support and challenge the team

 Identify opportunities for automation of financial and performance reporting and support the team to build their skills and drive constantly improving standards

 Being able to provide leadership and management across the Head of Department group of all aspects of financial management associated with running the operation and the business

 Working with and managing the Executive Directors such that the delivery of all aspects of the "finance agenda" are implemented in a well thought out, planned and efficient manner

 Full accountability and delivery of the annual: 3‐year plan; operating budget; estate review and year‐end forecast. Being able to demonstrate a hands‐on approach, being able to plan, lead and deliver significant projects to agreed timescales and being able to communicate effectively to all levels within the business

 Oversee external benchmarking of business performance metrics vs the market and industry peers

 Responsible for ensuring all weekly and monthly information and reporting is produced: on time; to exacting standards; drives decision‐making through insightful review, challenge and commentary

 Ensuring that all MI and reports are fit for purpose

 Work with the IT Director and IT team to introduce developments and enhancements to the accounting systems the data warehouse and reporting processes. Ensure systems work to required specification and accuracy prior to going live and taking control of day‐ to‐day management.

 To support the delivery of capital investment programme through the FP&A team by developing a close working relationship with the Property & Strategy Director and the Head of Property; providing support and challenge into the delivery/production of investment appraisals; working with the Head of Finance to ensure that the accounting for capex is fit for purpose; regular and ad‐hoc reporting with insightful commentary around post investment returns to shape future capital investment plans; and ownership of cashflow forecasting relating to capital expenditure

 To be able to demonstrate that you have the ability and skills to fully participate with and add value to the CFO in corporate finance and M&A activity - including refinancing, acquisitions and other corporate activities from time to time  Any other ad hoc duties as reasonably requested by the Chief Financial Officer

Profile

Ideally you will be a qualified to degree level with ACMA or ACCA qualifications and be able to demonstrate consistent first‐time examination success

 You will possess at least 5 years post qualified experience and be able to demonstrate a depth to your working experience in an accounting environment including a thorough understanding of business KPI reporting, investment appraisal and performance tracking, managing business stakeholders and business reporting systems (Microsoft Nav, Power BI, Jet Reports, and data cubes)

 Ideally you will have experience working in the finance team of a multi‐site hospitality, retail or property business

 You will have experience of leading and developing a small team and be able to demonstrate strong delegation skills which is a pre‐requisite in the role

 You will be able to demonstrate an ethic of delivering high performance through hard work, commitment and teamwork

 Excellent communication skills are essential. You will be able to demonstrate that you can present financial information in a clear, insightful and meaningful manner. You will also be able to demonstrate an ability to write and review "Board" quality papers
