The ideal candidate will be a qualified or newly qualified accountant who has a good understanding of IFRS reporting.

This is a varied role working within a highly skilled team, requiring someone who is able to work autonomously, and apply a structured approach towards balancing multiple demands and priorities within the group function.

My client is a world renowned market leading organisation in the heart of Cardiff.

Description

  • Providing technical assistance and/or challenge to entities within the Group on accounting matters raised to ensure adherence to Group accounting policy
  • Challenging processes and controls, aiming to improve quality and timeliness of reporting and ensuring entities adherence to the Group reporting timetable
  • Challenging the results submitted to Group through analytical reviews of information submitted
  • Perform regular analytical reviews of information submitted to identify and understand trends in performance and enable the production of quality MI reporting for internal Boards and Committees, as well as external parties
  • Involvement in the group IFRS consolidation process
  • Responsible for the financial elements of certain aspects of the Group annual report
  • Develop strong relationships with the Group external audit team
  • Develop and enhance reporting processes and documentation across the Group
  • Perform and enhance data quality assessment and documentation
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with colleagues in Finance and other areas such as other Finance departments across the Group

Profile

  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA)
  • Experience of working with the IFRS accounting framework, and ideally insurance accounting
  • Good knowledge of financial controls and exposure to data quality assurance processes
  • Ability to independently interpret accounting standards and regulatory requirements and propose suggestions to senior management
  • Self motivated, proactive with a can do attitude towards work
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships
  • Good Microsoft Excel skills
